This is the second piece I created. Inspired by baking and the 1950’s.

A fashion piece I created whilst at college. All of this was created by hand purely because I didn’t have a sewing machine at that time. I really loved creating this.

This simple little bracelet comes from the pages of Weekend Handmade, a book I picked up from the library recently. I’m not sure it’s really my style or that I’ll end up wearing it much, but it’s a very easy project for anyone who like leather strap bracelets. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes, and most of that was sewing the button on.

I photocopied the pattern out of the book, but it would be pretty easy to draw your own. It’s 15” long and 2” wide across the bottom. Just draw an elongated teardrop shape and mark the buttonhole at 1” and the button placement at 8.5”.

Trace and cut…

Attach a button…

And that’s it! Now you have a pretty decent looking bracelet. If I do wear this out, I’ll probably jazz it up with some studs or something. This is definitely a good happy hour project, if you’re into that sort of thing, or a good starter DIY for the beginning crafter.

A beaded bracelet. It’s a base of square white beads with white to gray beads of all kinds sewed to top with a fringe all around. Gotta have fringe!

Everyone I know claims I have an entire bead store in my art room! Well here’s where some of those beads ended up. A pretty blue beaded lamp shade. The shade is 7” tall not including the fringe.

Removable graphic wall paper! What a genius idea is that!? Especially for renters.

I just stumbled across Chasing Paper recently, and I already have a brain full of ideas of what to wallpaper. There’s a wood trunk I just upholstered in leather that needs a liner, the ugly old fireplace tiles need covering, my kitchen backsplashes could definitely use a makeover… And then, of course, there are the walls…
